As a Canucks fan, your Holtby trade is unrealistic. You gave way too much $ to Hakanpaa and overpaid Hamonic a bit.

Trying to be creative. Boston has Carlo and McAvoy as RH d so instead of money back we take Clifton. I don’t think its that bad. Holtby can be flipped during the year or at deadline for a 2nd.

Guarantee Hamonic gets at least 2-3years between 2.5 and 3.

Hankanpaa played lots of games this year, 29. Will not be. Heap. Maybe 1.75 mil

My thoughts

This team is pretty solid. I think Schmidt to Boston makes more sense than Schmidt to Buffalo, but Clifton and a pick would be a good return anyway. Holtby will probably require retention.

You’d have to pay us to take Holtby, he’s a cap dump and we don’t want or need him. No there are no rumors to Boston be being interested. It’s wishful thinking on Nucks fans part. Was speculation in article, other goalies named to. Holby was only named because he is available, not because there is interest.

You are going to have to buy him out or hope someone is desperate after free agency goalie roulette. Boston isn’t desperate. Have 2 NHL ready kids and no qualms about going with them as a tandem, 3rd not far off.

Lol! Boston doesn’t have 1 goalie that’ll be NHL ready even 2 years from now not to mention a team that expects to compete for a cup next year isn’t gonna trust a kid with 19 games of pro experience to get them there

Lol, sure bud. Sure

Swayman and Vladar combined for 2.13 .935 last year. Now go look at Holtby’s stats the last 4.

Will they do that over a full season? No. Can they go 2.70 .910? Yes. Still better than Holtby. Vanacek did that in Wash last year. Very average stats, kept them in the hunt for the division title all year long. Rask will be back by Feb. Only have to hold the fort til then. Nobody has ever won the cup in the first half of the year.

If Rask retires, they’ll sign a free agent. It won’t be Holtby.

Vladar the last 2 years at Prov 1.79 .936 and 2.19 .923 with 1.29 .956 overseas. He’s out of options and nothing left to prove there anyway.

Swayman was a 3 year starter in college with 100 games under his belt there. Won college Vezina senior year plsying behind a bad defensive team, beat out Spencer Knight. 1.89 .933 at Prov 1.50 .945 at NHL. Did not look to overmatched as a pro. Rather he gets more time in minors but have no problem rolling with both for a couple months if need be.

Keep your cap dump. We have much better options. Well, not keep him, buyout coming. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m a Canuck fan. Holtby on Boston could be helpful. He is only 31. Can be good on a good team. You need a vet you can trust.
We don’t mind keeping him and flipping him at the deadline when there could be more demand
