Yep, I think the lineup will look much like this. I think Ullmark gets more... I'd pay 1m more to secure him. I'm not a fan of Foligno, but if came back at 1.5m....maybe.

I like this and it doesn't happen enough in the NHL anymore. By only signing a few UFAs it says you think you can win with the team you have. Instead of waiting for the new guy to change the team it forces your best players to change things. Like Toronto's big 4 can't play tough or add grit to their game.

I wish the Leaf had been able to trade Marner, so they could use the cap to add more players. I disagree that that the big don't have grit or even some toughness.
Actually I floated the idea, that Leafs trade Marner to one of few teams that might be able to absorb withhout sending cap back to the Leafs. Or the Leafs had left Marner exposed to Seattle. and selected by Seattle so they could spend his 11m wiser. Somehow the Leafs need some of their smaller cap players to step their game....Sandin, Liljegren, Robertson, Mikheyvov to be successful. That's a big ask.
