laugh laugh Byron has little to no value, And Kotkaniemi and a late 1st and 2nd round pick is nowhere near enough for Jack Eichel especially to a divisional rival.

There is no way habs can afford to lose both kk and Suzuki in that trade but I get what your saying its probably gonna cost more that kk, Byron, and picks

You can take the word probably out. KK isn’t that big of a draw. Suzuki would be the centerpiece. A first would be needed. Then throw in probably the habs top prospect + kicker. Suzuki, Romanov, 2022 1st, 2nd?

WTF Habs says no and hang up. You don't trade your future N1 center, your best young D, draft picks and annother prospect for a guy that having health issues and never prooves himself in the playoffs

Keep that in mind that the Habs are NOT trading Suzuki, Romanov, Caufield or Primeau. This is the future habs and no team will touch to them.

I totally agree with you as well I think the Habs would say no to this deal but I think any other deal than something like this is not going to get you Jack Eichel. Therefore, it is unrealistic to think that the Habs will trade for him until his value has declined a bit.

First off: calm down.
You may notice that in no point did I ever advocate for such a trade being made. This isn’t my thread. Someone posted an ACGM tinkering with the notion of the habs trading for Eichel. Well guess what? No matter how many all caps words you use, the rest of the league doesn’t exist to facilitate the montreal canadiens success. If they did, things might have gone better over the last 30 years. The Sabres would need a reason to make the trade, and the package I proposed is probably on the light side of what it would take. Don’t like it? That’s fine. Continue to build around the same weak core and call it a day, but settle down.

His value already declines. His health problems and the fact that he wants out ASAP of Buffalo doesn't help at all. You trade a guy who's doesn't want playing for you, and that's how we see trades that are bad but because of the context they needed to do it.

And not a lot of teams can have Eichel in their lineup due to the flat cap, the Habs can.

I can see every reason for it to not make sense for the habs, but the more i think about it, that’s actually pretty good value for both sides.

Plenty of teams can. The Sabres don’t have to trade their franchise center that has 5 years left on a reasonable deal. Low ball offers will do nothing but waste time.

Weak core but they made it to finals *intensifies thinking*

Suzuki and Caufield have franchise superstars potential
Romanov has top 2 potential
Primeau have a starter potential
this is not weak, along with a lot of prospects and some good habs player it's really good.
Yes they'll lost danault, probably weber and price as well, but with all that cap space, jeez they can do a lot

(Sorry to get a little bit upset but I've seens too many bad trades involving Suzuki so it's keeps triggered me)

He has a 10m salary in a flat cap, do you really think a lot of competitive teams can afford it. Maybe teams like the Devils or Ottawa, but not playoffs team, a lot actually have cap problems

I mean, if you want to play this game, feel free. I won’t be participating.
If you want to just ignore all the oddities of this season, and pretend that the habs getting hot for a few games and beating the knights erases the last three seasons of stinking, go ahead.
If you want to slap “franchise superstar potential,” on an undersized winger that has 10 regular season games under his belt, and an undersized center that’s been .65 points per game over his career, go ahead.
If you want to act like every guy that plays a solid game or two has top 2 potential, go ahead.

Some of these guys looked good, but I’m not going to play that game. I’ll just be here to say i told you so after the habs miss the playoffs pretty handily next season.

I can do math, and i can look at the tools on this site. This isn’t guess work. Plenty of teams can make it work.
