iKraken has been drafted solely utilizing the players who were left unprotected. Due to the large number of quality players available, I avoided the 'side' deals and built the team based on my own personal BS.

Expansion Draft Notes;

-From Colorado, I selected Landeskog to allow Seattle the opportunity to offer the 8th year @ $8.5M per. I give Landeskog the 'C' and move him to Center with his 56.6 FO% to anchor the top line.

-From Vancouver, I selected Holtby as a trade piece. With only 1 year remaining at $4.3M, this is a great bargaining piece to have in your back pocket for that contending team whose #1 suffers an injury early on. Will be moved at Trade Deadline, if not earlier.

Trade Notes;

-Carolina, as 'Ron Francis' I reach out to my old friends in Carolina and offer up De Haan and E. Svechnikov. Adding De Haan at $2.3M, as Seattle retained $2.25M, will help to alleviate losing both Hamilton and Bean on the backend. E. Svechnikov, do I even need to explain.

-Detroit, all time good guy Steve Yzerman moves Cholowski closer to home, Langley BC, while giving him an opportunity within a new organization. Stenlund is big, young, cheap and can play Center or Wing. A big body Swede to play next to Lucas Raymond as he finds his way in the NHL

-Pittsburgh, Nick Ritchie is a Brian Burke/Ron Hextall type player. Coming off a career high in goals in Boston, Ritchie fits the mold of the type of player missing from the Penguins forward group, truculent. Retaining $1.75M of Will Butcher' final year of his contract, he'll fit in nicely as the 4/5 defensemen in Pittsburgh and give the Pens more depth at a bargain price.
