Dougie’s gonna get way more money, and if he does come to montreal, it’ll have to be on an overpay contract because of the income tax.

Why trade Weber for Nashville to be able to exceed the cap for 5 years by 7.8 Mil when we can do the same thing and add another major piece.

All evidence points to Weber retiring because of his injuries. That's all over TSN Montreal. If that's the case, Nash will have to pay the rest of his cap hit. It's kinda doing them a favor and getting a draft pick in return

But instead of getting a pick we could potentially add another star player or two what if we could trade Chiarot and add Martinez and Johansen

If he’s retiring their isn’t nothing Nashville could do to escape the recapture penalty. If he’s going to ltir because what sane person that’s hurt and gave his body for the sport turn down 12 million dollars then it doesn’t matter where he goes on ltir

I understand that but wouldn't Nash save the cap space by putting Weber on LTIR ? I get that they would still have to pay him but there wouldn't any cap hit at that point, unless i'm wrong.

The point being if Weber wants his money he’ll go on ltir. It doesn’t matter what team is paying him that. So why trade for him. And if he’s dead set on retiring and giving up 12 million then there isn’t nothing the preds could do to escape that recapture penalty so why trade for him
