I feel like your value is off in the Arizona trade, OEL should have a few suiters willing to pay for him, they aren't going to give up more and take on a bad contract.
Detroit probably needs a second to take on roussel, he is of zero use to the team.

Nah no one is willing to pay for 6 years of 8 million dollar OEL. A GM would be crazy to pay for him since he has negative value. A third for one year of Roussel is reasonable considering they have a lot of cap space. Erikssons contract ends next season so they only need to deal with him for 1 year and can bury him or buy him out. It still saves them money in the long run.

Just because they have alot of space doesn't mean it's a charity.

Quinn Hughes probably won't sign 6.75 for 6 years. An aav that low might get you two years bridge deal, but he's worth well over 9. He's by far Vancouver's best player

OEL actually got worse. It was a very bad deal last offseason. He's now a replacement level player by GSVA and he's paid like an elite defender unless the Canucks are getting a lottery pick, it would be Jim Benning crazy to take that contract!
