I'm not sure the Jets would have any interest in Dunn. As a left shot, smallish, offensive defenseman looking for a nice raise, he's not really what Winnipeg is looking for with Morrissey, Heinola, Samberg and Stanley on the left side.

Why do people constantly say this? Dunn is 6-ft & 210, and not shy about throwing it around.

I guess because 6'-0 isn't that big by NHL standards.

Yeah, except nobody said he was "big by NHL standards". You said he was "smallish", which is not accurate, but a lot of people say things like that. For the record, he's almost exactly average for NHL defenseman in both height and weight.

Cool. For me that's still on the small side.

For you, average is on the small side? I can't help but feel like you don't know what average means. tears of joy

I can't help but think you can't tolerate people with different opinions or different preferences than you.

Plus you also seem to be rounding generously as the average height of an NHL player is 6'-1 from the info I've found. But I guess you meant he's close enough in your opinion that no one is allowed to say he is on the small side for what they prefer in defensemen.

1- Take a valium, dude. It's harmless banter, I even put a damn laughing face on the comment. Besides, facts are neither opinions nor preferences.

2- Yes, Dunn is slightly under the average height while also being slightly over the average weight. When you average these both out, he's, well... decidedly, factually average size for an NHL defenseman. And you didn;t say he was small for what you prefer. So again, this is moving the goalposts all over to argue a factually incorrect stance you think is an opinion. Whatever, man, he's super tiny if you wish.

I'm not the one overreacting to someone saying a player is on the smallish side.

You asked why I said he was smallish side and I explained why. Isn't that why we're here? To discuss opinions?

Again, I literally put a smiley face on my post. I dryly, accurately described what makes him very much average in size among NHL defenseman. So if I go against your statement, I'm automatically "overreacting"? I'm sensing an exaggeration trend here...

And seriously, you need to process the difference between a fact and an opinion. I'm discussing a fact: his size in statistical relation to the league's d-men. That's it. Lots of people call him small, and he is demonstrably not. That's it. Just an FYI for an inaccurate tag. Do with it what you want.

Excepted that we proved you exaggerated his height and weight to make him average and presented those as "facts". He is on the small side, statistically.

Oh FFS. It was a friendly point of order. Don;t know what else to say, especially if you think his actual weight being over the NHL average means I "exaggerated to make him average".
