IMO just go after hertl at that point but its still a good trade for both teams

Meir and Hertl will cost a middle 6 now player, a high end prospect and a 1st. if they don't get that they keep both as neither has asked to be traded so why sell low just to sell low!

we have a plethora of players in the minors who are fringe NHLers who have way better prospects of making the NHL than them. Our prospect pool is weak and still none of the 3 would even make it into our top 10 prospect's list

He's just talking nonsense. To even pretend that a very highly rated 20 yo goalie that starts for Canada's youth teams is "washed out" is without any basis in reality.
