RIGHT, Rob Blake wont move Turcotte for Jack Eichel. he sure isn't moving him for Tyler Bertuzzi.

What's to say he wouldn't? The rumors I heard were that BUF upped their price significantly during the offseason and most suitors backed away because of it.

So, the cost of getting Turcotte is; a first line winger + a 2nd round pick + $10 million in cap over four years?

I think I'll keep Bertuzzi.

Rumors are now that Kevyn Adams wants 6 high quality pieces for Jack Eichel, Doubtful any sane GM give him that much for a damaged Jack Eichel.

Turcotte would have the highest potential of anybody in our organization to become a 1C, potentially even better than Larkin. We need that kind of player, and it's unlikely we'll find one in this year's draft.

Turcotte have played less than half a season in the AHL.

You could at least have waited until after the draft when we know if we got a centre prospect or not.

You're giving away a known first liner for a centre that may, sometime in the future, become a good centre, and you're paying for the privilege of doing it.

The love for Bertuzzi amongst most Wings fans is hilarious. I like him a lot, but he's really more of a bottom 6 winger.

He's a good complimentary middle 6 winger. No shame in that. But he's like 2 years from leaving his prime, about to get paid, and is not worth Turcotte

I don't think it sets things back that far really, Bertuzzi doesn't bring anything if he gets hurt again, then his value plummets.
Even if we draft a centre, still going to be 2-3 years before they would be playing in the nhl.
Turcotte is almost nhl ready and plays a really good two way game which would fit in the Detroit system.
Also at some point you have to swing fly the fence here and there. I agree we should be conservative with our future assets but this kid has elite potential.

He plays a game that alot of teams covet, a good combination of grit and skill. He's been on a pretty steady incline in recent years, just an injury last year detailed him. He could have came back but decided to just take the time off to make sure he was healthy.

I think the rest of the value is made up by taking on quick and the second. But honestly I don't see LA trading quick as I think he is part of the core players of veterans doughty was talking about pushing for another cup with.
