Not sure if this value is accurate. Caps need cap space, hagelin seems like the odd man out. Two years of his cap hit with Vanecek as compensation, they likely lose him in the expansion draft anyways. I wouldn't be opposed to sending a late round pick back if needed, but he could be a potential goalie of the future.

    DET
    NYI
Islanders have serious cap crunch, Leddy isn't really considered a dump but his contract is large and he's just a casualty. Hickey needs to go, along with Komarov. Wilde fills RD prospect depth and Leddy can slot into the line up and be trade bait later. The third is if detroit feels they want more but I don't think its totally necessary.

      Détails additionnels:
Highly unlikely this could happen or even if it is a thing that clauses get waved for Detroit but this could be a way Colorado sheds a ton of salary.
      COL
Okay this one is farfetched but if Johnson feels he can play but Colorado doesn't feel he has a spot on the roster anymore they might look at dumping him. Send Kadri with him for compensation, he can fill the #2C spot and be traded at the deadline. Only way I see him waiving is a guarantee to be traded to a contender at the deadline. Graves is also a sweetener who can slot into the line up and is a potential loss in the expansion draft.

Ladd might end up on LTIR but if not I think this is the price, he brings nothing to Detroit.

Doubt benning admits he made poor signings by paying to get rid of them but I think this would be the price for these guys. Beagle would be of use, the other two can just be bought out and buried.

            2. Nielsen, Frans
            Détails additionnels:
Okay this might seem odd, what kind of value do beagle and Neilson have for a sabres team? Well it's actually too get to the cap floor while spending less cash. This only works if they feel they can move on from Thompson, I would take him on as a reclamation project. If the trade happens it would have to be after bonuses are paid out. Thompson is owed 1.4 & 1.6 the next two seasons, girgs 2.2 & 2.4 with a combined cap of 3.6M. Neilson is owed 1.5M and beagle 1.2M. Total 2.7M actual cash instead of 3.6M this year and 4M next year. With a cap hit of 8.25M. They save 900K actual cash but gain 4.65 cap to hit the floor with if they need it after trading eichel.

Vancouver doesn't do this. They wait the year, pay the piper, and keep the 1st round pick. Our prospect pool is shallow, we need the future potential.

Salary cap? There won’t be any taxi squad next year so you are over the max roster as well.

...... I think you miss the point of this exercise, it's just possible targets for cap dumps, not all can happen or even should just ideas. I made three of these, players that could be cap dumps and possible compensation.

I agree that that is the way they should go but if benning thinks his job is threatened which it should be, he might try to make a push for playoffs and ruin this team some more. I also think they might need to move some money out or buyout one just to have enough cap space to ice a roster.

Vanecek and graves absolutly. Having a 25 year old goalie who looks like he can play would be a huge boost for us. Graves amd hronek would be a legit top 4 pair which we haven't had in years. Kadri seems like a risk. Flipping him might be hard because what playoff team will give up pieces for a guy who loses his **** when ever he gets to the playoffs.

Yah, you're not wrong about Benning, he's done more suspect things in free agency. Aquilini is the real problem here, he keeps pushing for the playoffs, but not wanting to eat the crap it will take to win the cup. I'm assuming someone has learned lessons from the past and they won't be repeated - maybe Daniel and Henrik smarten them up?

That would be price for NYI to get rid of Ladd, I wouldn't wanna do it though, they need the picks and I like Bellows. also think theres a chance hes on LTIR soon.

I believe I heard a rumour about him going to be put on LTIR next season, but who knows.

I believe I heard a rumour about him going to be put on LTIR next season, but who knows.

Yea I mean he's healthy so he cant really go on LTIR, but maybe they say the back and knee injuries he's suffered have been too hard on his body, and he LTIRetires. Either way I think theres moves they can make to free up space without having to part with a first & bellows, and still keep the team together. i.e. trade Leddy, pay a smaller price to dump Komarov, buyout hickey.

Holmstrom (1st rounder 2 years ago) is a bust, and 1 pick in the first 2 rounds in last year and this years draft combined. I dont think they can afford to pay the price to dump Ladd. If there prospect pool wasn't awful, I'd do the Ladd trade.

way too much for dumping johnson.

I don't even think he is a dump, just if they felt like they needed to get rid of Johnson and Kadri, could use Graves as incentive. This is the most unrealistic option in my opinion.

i'd consider ej a dump. a 1st and so/so prospect should be enough. adding kardi is just overkill.

I didn't realize Holmstrom was a bust already? Like isn't he only 19? Or is he just that bad now?
I also think Ladd wants to play, that was just a rumour article I read about ltir. I like my first islanders trade for the team to free up cap.

I would take a first and b prospect for him personally, when I put Kadri in, I just wanted to make things interesting and not the basic cap dump

maybe im a being a little quick calling him a bust, but i don't think he makes the roster anytime soon. It was a pretty big reach when they took him at the first round.
