Buffalo does not make that trade. Girgensons has more value than Byron, and it doesn’t hurt that he costs less.

Im not quite sure about the value! I mean Girgensons didnt play this year and he wasn't able to manage more than 20 pts in is last 5 years. He is good defensively but Byron is good aswell and he can manage to put points. Its only a 1.2 mil differences between both and they would have a 3rd plus a 4. I think that Buffalo would look into that offer because they dont loose much.

I’d aim for Yanni Gourde over Alex Killorn and I don’t see why we need Paquette especially at 1.750 million… I don’t really like Olelsiak at 3.5 millions but I love the Drouin versus klefbom trade…

I took killorn over gourde because his contract is better. Also Killorn is bigger and I think we have enough small guys in the line up. Plus, killorn is a LW and we really need one. Paquette is a depth guy but I understand that we could have the same for less. For Olesiak, I feel that he is a Dman that could take Chariot old spot. He has a similar style. But like I said, I would rather have Klefbom in the lineup at the start of the year, but I dont think it will happen

Girgensons got a long-term deal from Buffalo before that injury because they see him as an important piece of their core going forward. I doubt their opinion changed after a season he didn’t play in. Byron wasn’t much of a loss when they traded him away all those years ago, I very much doubt they are clamoring to get him back now. The only reason to bring him back now would be wanting whatever draft pick Montreal was willing to pay them to take him, and using him to get to the Cap floor on the fourth line next to Girgensons.

Yeah both of gourde and Killorn would be huge to the left side… and they’re winners too, wouldn’t be expensive at all and if we lose Chiarot I’d be down for a healthy Klefbom

I love Zemgus, he plays hard and while he has not topped 20 points in some time that is due to the coaches style. I really liked the Byron I saw in the playoffs. Tons of speed and energy.

Let me change the trade a bit. Buffalo returns the third from the Staal trade and MTL makes it a 2021 second.
If you look at the team I made, that would give Buffalo 11 picks in the first two rounds next year.
I would hope that would be sufficient to restock the prospect pool
