I think it's more rough for Stephens. He finally cracked the roster, got hurt and watch Colton take his spot. Would've been a brutal year for him

I can't help but love the team culture. Joseph and Stephens took cheap 2-year deals before last season. And now Raddysh and BB are locked up the next 3 years on what should be very team friendly deals. Hopefully Katchouk is next.

To be fair Tampa trading him to the wings is a sign of good faith, in Detroit he can make a name for himself it would be different if he got sent to the pens & he gets buried down the depth chart but with Detroit you never know look at Adam Erne with his improvement in play with more minutes. I think Yzerman & brisebois have a kid they both have good intentions for.

These 2 combined with BB are our next wave. All 3 taking cheap 3 year deals is huge for us.

I find it interesting they announced Raddysh and Katchouk together. I think those 2 wanting to initially stick together in the NHL played a part in them signing these deals.

I'm getting Triplet 2.0 vibes.

We need a center to truly make it a triplets line. If both Raddysh and Katchouk live up to their full potential, then I think they'd make good linemates for Cirelli in the future.

To arbitration we go

So the most Ross Colton can make is $988923 without affecting overages, on a one year deal I would say that sorta fits the Tampa philosophy take a 10% haircut so we can save $$$ to win. Without overages we have $1134045 in cap space, I would imagine Colton's camp is looking for a number closer to $1500000 so what is likely to happen they meet in the middle for or remaining cap space & we likely suffer from overages next season. I don't personally think arbitration will be in the team's favor for a lower cap hit that would save us from $145122 in overages.

Bolt players file for arbitration every year, when was the last time we actually saw a guy make it to an arb hearing?

The overage number in the ACGM is already applied against the cap hit.

Something feels different with Colton. I think he'll still sign, but we'll have to see.

Conacher with 24 points in 35 games doesn't compare with Colton. I doubt Colton is worth more than a 4th to anyone who'd acquire him.

I agree that he’ll sign before. A one year deal seems likely which would make his future in Tampa an uncertainty depending on his play this season. He may very well price himself out of here. However I believe a one year deal worth around 1 million is the most likely scenario

I don't know. I'm very confused about what the hold up is. Both sides know what the max is we can give him, term shouldn't be an issue, and we cannot save cap space since we'll be in LTIR regardless.

If it goes to arbitration and we get a number that we like, then we'll have it be a 2 year deal. If he signs before arbitration then probably a 1 year deal.
