I think brisebois isn't bribing Seattle. They are staring down Seattle & they aren't going to blink. Joseph Foote are the cheap young players but I think Seattle wants to win like Vegas right out of the gate so I'd imagine they look at gourde if they want a long time fan favourite or if they get Palat they'll likely try to flip him.

If Tampa does a bribe it's to take Johnson.

I read Seattle was asking for either a 1st or 3rd to protect an additional player. That's probably before factoring in what it would cost to offload Johnson on them.

I don't think BriseBois made a side deal. Maybe losing one of our good forwards for nothing will buy us a little goodwill with other GMs thinking we've had it too good the past 2 years.

I've been on the halak to be vasi's new back up train since this season began. I wanted to grab bernier at the deadline since halak wasn't available due to the fact that boston was making the playoffs & why would you trade a back up when your making the playoffs. I am glad joe smith caught up

I wonder how low he's willing to go on his next contract. He'd be a good veteran to have, but we aren't in a position to spend more than what Curtis was making. Even that may be more than we can afford next season.

Likely a million with bonuses in his deal, nothing higher. Halak is 35+ he won't get more than that unless a team really needs a 1B goalie. Other than that Halak gets signed for 1 million, just depends where he wants to go.

Halak would be a great backup to get, but depending on how the offseason goes we might have to give our backup the minimum. Another guy I was thinking of was Dubnyk. He's kind of in the same boat as Bernier where 1M seems too low. I liked the idea of Rinne before he retired

Honestly at this point I would rather just trade Palat for a 2nd and fill out the roster with our young guys (Colton, ABB, Joseph, Raddysh, Katchouk, Foote). Unless we can somehow pull off a deal without getting rid of Foote or a 1st than maybe, but I guess with Gourde gone I've just accepted that Johnson will be the 3C next year.
