Thought a little bit more about it and yeah I agree. The consensus price for 1 year of Tomas Hertl was a 1st and Chytil. The difference between Hertl and ROR is definitely more than Zac Jones.

Edit: I just added Karl Henriksson. I think him and Jones covers the jump from the #25 center in the NHL to the #15 center in the NHL (approximate rankings)

@csick made a good template. It was a cap dump, a B+ prospect, and a 2nd. Upgraded the 2nd to a 1st to get a year of Jake Walman, and I had St. Louis retain a little since New York doesn't really have any cap dumps. I think you'll get something you'll be fine with, since clearly you're not asking for the moon.

Why would he take a QO?

He's ineligible for arbitration. The only thing Kakko could do is hold out but he doesn't really have any leverage. We did the same thing with Tony DeAngelo in 2019.
