The Islanders can afford Varlomov at his cap hit. Pretty easily they wouldn't sign Bernier (Saving them 2.5 Mill) and they would sign Sorokin for a shorter term and lesser money (3x3.5). Idk Smith, Koskinen, Stalock don't seem to be cutting it in the net for the Oilers.

Goaltending hasn't been the reason the Oilers have been knocked out in the first round the last few years but it also hasn't won us any games.
