Don't think DAL has wiggle room with the cap. They still have Miro, Dickinson to sign and likely take a good run at Oleksiak as well. Not sure what the status of Bishop and Radulov are, but there is another $10M they need to account for.

You would need to change SDA to Liljegren for the NSH trade to have any sort of consideration. Even then I don't know if Ellis is a guy they want to move.

When are you TML fans going to wise up? Your bottom6 is terrible, and the ones you want to replace are worthless in trades. Buy them out or bury them, but clearing cap space with unrealistic trade ideas makes this a fantasy team, not based in reality.

I mean I never said that I was the GM of the Leafs but I did it based off of Simple Moves. Bottom 6 isn't as bad as you believe it to be honestly but it needs just a little more reshaping and honestly we still have a better bottom 6 than half the league so idk what you are talking about

They do. No Stephen Johns now and Oleksiak will go somewhere else for more on the open market. Dallas needs defence and Rielly isn't at a high end price for what he provides. SDA yes because the Leafs minor league System has a plethora of Centers but not enough wingers so yeah SDA would be a guy you trade away and yeah Ellis is at 6.25 Mil and I doubt Nashville want to rid themselves of the Ryan Johansson deal or the Matt Duchecne deal so Ellis is the next best option. If I were them I'd protect Josi, give Ekholm an extension then protect him and I can't remember the 3rd d man they'd protect

That’s the whole point, he can’t be buried lol. He’s a 13th forward level player getting paid 500k over league min and 200k over the amount you can bury, nobody is interested when you can sign a similar calibre player (or better) for less money, or give a prospect with more upside an opportunity. If anything Engvall would cost a 7th to dump to get that extra salary off your cap hit, I doubt anyone even takes him on waivers.

No, Engvall isn't worth a 7th. Teams aren't giving up any asset, even a near worthless 7th for a below replacement level player.

Engvall isn't beating out Tkachuk, Norris, or Batherson. He isn't beating out Stützle, White, or CBrown. He isn't beating out Formenton, Pinto, or Dadonov.
He isn't beating out Paul, Tierney, or Watson. he isn't needed because the Sens have Amadio, Bishop, Beaudin, and Kelly, that they don't need to give anything up to play. Every team has these players, and they don't need yours. Every team has an $81.5MM cap, and they don't need your below level player taking up $1.25MM of that cap. None of the Sens replacement guys will make over $800K, and the same can be said for most other teams.

Your team decided to pay Engvall $1.25MM on a 1-way contract, and now you get to keep him. Trading him for a 7th to clear cap is the logic of a child.
