I'm sure they'd have interest, but he's nearly a $6 million cap hit for 4 more years and he's not a $6 million player. If there was retention then maybe they'd have more interest.

highly doubt that canucks retain on a 4 year deal. i think there is at least one team in the league that takes him on without retention (but i do agree that he is overpaid)

There probably is a team that would take his full hit and I'm sure another team would pay for him because he fills a void they have. I like Schmidt, but he just seems like a redundant player that Boston already has.
