Description
Chicago trade can be before or after expansion and Arizona trade is before so Oilers pay the bonus money. I think we could see a lot of these moves other then the Arizona trade which is my pipe dream.
Expansion 7-3-1 Kuemper, Nurse, Bear, Keith/Jones, McDavid, Leon, RNH, JP, Yam, Kessel, archie

Fair I just see him being so undervalued what would you say is a fair trade? Because I keep seeing him being traded for a third and ppl saying neal or koskinen needs to go back then which doesn’t make sense to me. In my mind Keith gives the Oilers a bottom 4 dman who can help out Bear or Bouchard. Blackhawks get Koskinen who can help fellow don Lankinen, and Caleb Jones is a nice young defenseman whos ready for a full time role but the oilers have multiple young dmen and need a vet. Also Stan said that he wants to get a stud blue liner so reuniting of the Jones brothers strikes me as a possibility here.

Oilers should never offer this trade in the first place, and if it is presented to Chicago they should unwrap that thing and run.

Disagree Keith at less than 3 mill is a terrific deal. Yes he’s turning 38 but he still played about 23 minutes a game for the hawks and would be a great mentor for Bear and Bouchard. He’s not the defenseman he once was but can slot in nicely on that second pairing with his strong two way game

Not saying Keith would be a bad addition, specifically with the retention, but because of the talk about Chicago wanting to trade Keith away makes it so they have no leverage in the situation. So to give them a somewhat bad contract and a decent young defenseman, I feel makes it a bad trade for the oilers.

Ah understandable, my logic was as I responded to another comment about how Keith can help the Oilers and at the same time dumping Koskinen contract would give them more money this year to take a run at someone

TOI doesn't determine whether a defenceman is good or not.

True but a guy who plays in all situations and was on the top pairing and if you actually watch him play then you know he still is.

S.Jones is likely landing in Philly meaning this point is moot. CHI have a lot of young LD tbf and taking on Kosk isn't beneficial. I understand there may be some retention from us but its not just going to be given away freely. You day raise a good point about taking salary back.
