What an awful trade for the Flyers

yeah not a huge fan of this... don't really know what else to say. I would take Spurgeron for Ghost, but wouldn't take Granlund for G and don't feel confident giving up on TK after half a season for Niederreiter. TK is 19 and is probably ahead of Nino when he was 19 so it's tough to gauge. Right now he's on pace for 35 points in his rookie year. Niederreiter didn't hit that mark until his 3rd year and is finally maturing and on pace to break all his career marks by scoring close to 60. If I had to chose today for a Cup run I'd take Niederreiter, but for longevity and the future I'd rather wait on TK and see if he shoots better next season after seeing NHL goalies for the first time - which is really common.

Minnesota passes on this in a heartbeat. The only deal I could see working between these two teams is one that takes place after the season, but before expansion. Minn moves one of its top 4D for an expansion exempt D prospect.

Parise+Suter+Giroux = ~$23.33m cap hit for the next 5 years.

Spurgeon=Ghost
Granny=Konecny
Giroux=Nino+1st (20+)+Greenway

Both teams say no. No need for the Wild in Giroux, Flyers need Giroux.

Granlund is finally playing his more natural wing position and thriving at it, hope to never see him as an everyday center again.
