Two cap dumps, a 32 year old goalie, a good prospect, a decent D prospect, and one maybe decent defensemen who has played 14 NHL games....come on, no picks and they're taking on Neal...hard pass

That's literally their last 3 years of 1st overall picks.

I'd want prospects over picks as Buffalo. They have terrible scouting and pick busts more often than not.

If Edmonton gave that much for an injured guy Buffalo would need to retain. Edmonton's taking all the risk with this surgery Buffalo desperately tried tied to prevent Eichel from having.

Picks are worth more than prospects. Teams want to pick their own guys. Holloway is the only guy from the bunch the Sabres would want. They're empty on forwards in the prospect ranks.

Why would they trust Edmonton's drafting? Not like they're hitting them out of the park either

Sure I'd give picks instead of those guys. I thought the prospects would be more valuable since they were drafted high compared to the picks that you'd be getting after Edmonton gets Eichel.

Exactly why an Eichel to Edmonton trade wouldn't happen, they don't have the high end prospects like LA or the Ducks have and their picks will be in the 20's or higher.

Those 3 guys are high end prospects... I'm not even an Oilers fan...

They'd be your top prospects outside Dahlin and Cozens.

All of them are better than Jokiharju.

Boy that doesn't seem like a genuine appraisal of the Edmonton prospects like Bouchard is still one of the best D prospects alive despite not getting NHL gp

    - one of the best draft year NHLe rates of all time

    - one of the best AHL age 20 NHLe rates ever also

    - has the poise and puck control of a 30 year old

4 shots a game and a huge pts/60 in Allsvenskan

As an Oilers fan, I wouldn't want this. Tying up half your cap in four players (like Toronto) means it is that much more challenging in filling holes in the rest of the roster when they have to be based on low salaries or entry level deals. It makes having a competitive roster even that much more difficult.

I really like the simplicity of the big trade but the bas d contracts take it down to 3 mid round 1sts ultimately and it's not great for Eichel, though not awful

    Just so crucial for buf

    😕
