Compher amp Graves to Oilers

Description
Have seen Compher and Graves being given away for little to get cap and because Colorado has replacements. Would they do this?

Also, I keep Smith and Koski, if either faulter we can try Konovalov or Skinner. What is the point of developing them if they don't get a shot.

If Klef is back at the beginning of the season we can buyout Neal and maybe trade/waive Laggeson.

Edmonton would need to add. Graves alone is probably worth a 2nd and Compher isn't just a cap dump

Two guys who can barely finish beside one of the greatest playmakers of all time 😑 I mean just from a virtuous hockey it's a huge letdown ☹ also value

The allegiance to Kassian here is bizarre

Couldn't even keep his 4th line spot last year 😑

I think the Colorado trade makes a lot of sense. They are going to lose Graves or Compher to Seattle why not grab some assets. May have to add a 3rd pick or Benson

I kept Kassian as a conservative move, maybe we can trade him to NY or somewhere. If he's on the team, he has done well with Conner in the past, that's why he got a contract. I hope he can return to form, he seems to play better higher up the lineup, this gives us three scoring lines. If not, lines are fluid and we can try out Marody. But this could work.

I'm not familiar with Hyman's lack of finish, I suppose he could be swapped with another UFA, Saad perhaps.

    massive decline by the avs

You cant even get Graves for a 2nd and Compher doesnt have negative value like some people like to pretend he does on this site.
Avs are not in the business of trading good roster players for nothing

Probably have to add one of Benson or McLeod, though I can't speak to their values. Given that Edmonton doesn't have any other 2nd's or 3rd's, a higher B-level prospect would fit the bill in my mind. What do you think @coga16?

trading a player doesnt stop the Avs from losing a player from Expansion.

Trade Graves for nothing.....ok now you lose Donskoi. So you have 2 good players off your roster and nothing to show for it? Or just let Seattle take their 1 guy and move on.

I understand the idea here but from colorados side of this they lose 3 roster players(2 in the trade and another to seattle) and get a 2nd in return. They're not in such a bad cap situation where they need to start giving away players. I don't think this is worth it for them unless you send back a cheap roster player who can play 2nd/3rd line wing or another 2nd they can use to flip for a player after the draft.

We could add one of a 3rd, Benson, Kahun, or Marody. Is that close?

Or the avs dont want lesser players or a dditional cap hit and they can just let seattle take their guy and move on

Yep the avs can just stand pat, but aren't they also likely loosing Saad because of cap, maybe checking down to someone like Coleman, who is good but not a 1LW. Might be nice to get a bit more cap to keep Saad or similar.

they were losing Saad regardless. But with Newhook sliding into that top 6 spot, they have a natural top 6 replacement in him.
They. Avs dont have to do anything drastic if they dont want to, they arent hung up by the cap or XD like people over estimate they do. They have plenty of options without doing anything drastic
