Description
Give Miro the big contract. Put him on the top pair. Don’t have to worry about Esa trying to skate with the puck lmao. Run three offensive lines. I honestly don’t dislike this setup at all. Gets the most out of pretty much errybody

Blake Comeau should almost be on that first line haha! I see Radek Faksa on the fourth… how fast is he, and how much would you want for him? We are dying for a good 3c, but we need one who is pretty quick.

He isn’t fast. He’s a good sized boy. Him being on the fourth line doesn’t really mean he’s for sale. That fourth line would get heavy minutes under Bones. Which I wouldn’t mind if we had the three other scoring lines. Throw the Faksa line out there against the other teams top line. Let the other lines do the scoring.

Thank you. I know Faksa isn’t for sale, I was just curious. Having good depth at the centre position is always nice! He’s a good player.

Speed isn't a big trait of his, but it's also not a weakness for him either. He can keep up with most players in the NHL, but he's not going to be burning anyone when he's on the ice either. In terms of cost, throw Dallas a mid-late 2nd round pick & maybe a mid-level prospect. He tends to be overrated by most Stars fans in general, but he's certainly not useless on an NHL roster.

Wouldn't give up Mascherin as a bribe for Seattle. I'm much more willing to part with a mid round pick instead of one of the best prospects in the AHL this past season.

Thank you. He is definitely a good player… I agree most he is overrated on this site. Nice to know the value.

Dickie skates better and should be cheaper than Faksa. If Seattle takes him the Oilers would be smart to see if they could get him from them for picks. Dallas and Edmonton aren’t really the best trade partners as both are prolly on the lookout for affordable forwards with up side

For sure. Just trying to be realistic about what it might take. Honestly Masch’s up side might be more valuable than keeping Dickie

I definitely understand! I haven’t seen Dickinson play a lot of games. is he good at face offs, also could you please tell me his value?

He is the definition of an 80’s player, physical and defensively smart, not really an offensive guy. That’s why Bones likes him. Also he’s one of the best faceoff takers in the league, which is a very weird compliment.

That’s true! He’s decent offensively for a 3c… roughly 30 points a season. Thank you for your insight as well.

As overrated as Faksa is, Dickinson is just as underrated. For me personally, he goes for a 2nd + good (not high level) prospect, but realistically he probably goes for a similar, maybe slightly worse, package than Faksa.

I'm 100% of the mindset that Dallas should protect Dickinson over Faksa in the expansion draft.

I like that you can throw Faksa out there against top competition and know he’s gonna do a solid job of shutting them down. Him and Lindell are kinda love/hate for me as I think players like that are useful, but I also see the negatives. I’m also realistic about neither of them going anywhere as long as Nill is here. I also hate that Miro spent most of his time out there with the FCC line which just feels like a waste. Which is why I’d love to see Miro moved to the top pair

Same here. I’m fine with Comeau and Faksa it’s just when he puts Miro with them it really pisses me off. Miro needs to play with talent, and I know why Bones is doing this, it’s because Miro is by far the most reliable defensemen that we have, but he should use him in better scenarios.

If Faksa is on a $2M contract for a max of 3 years, he's fine. I hate that he got a $3M+ contract for 5 years. Bad contract by Nill & co.

Nill just loves to give out massive contracts to players who take up a lot of ice-time. The same rule applies to Lindell.

Not so sure I'd sign Coleman. Dallas needs to leave themselves as much cap space as possible going into next offseason when Klingberg, Robertson, Gurianov, and Oettinger are all due for contracts. Sure, Pavs & Radulov are coming off the books, but that's only roughly $13M to play with. Assuming Klingberg takes up $8M of that, there's not much space left for the 3 kids to get re-signed, especially since Gurianov will be coming off of a bridge deal & Robertson may play well enough to forgo his bridge deal.

Dallas is going to need every dollar they can find. If they can get into this season with any kind of cap space, that's just cap space that they should be able to roll over into next season for the big name contracts we'll have expiring.

I don’t see JRob pulling a Kaprizov saying I want all the moneys right now. He’s a second round pick coming off an ELC. Obv if he has another year like this one he’s gonna cost some money, but I’m hopeful that it isn’t a ton. Klinger is probably looking at Krug money which would only be an additional 2.25 million per. If he’s looking for more I say give it to him and trade him before the NMC kicks in. His “team friendly” contract wasn’t him doing us a favor at the time. It was Nill betting on him getting better. Nill won on that bet, so that doesn’t mean John gets to go looking for that lost money now. My big concern next year is if Guri finds consistency getting regular time with Jamie (and hopefully Dell, different argument). If he buries 30 we might be in a tight spot. Hard to say. I’d still love Coleman but I can def respect the argument
