2020-21 Bruins not good enough

Description
Playoffs always showcase where a team needs improvement
For the Bruins it was their defense and their bottom 6.
The Perfection Line and McAvoy were outstanding once again but the need more help.
Not trading any first or seconds. Need to bring in players on ELC's in the next few years as players age out.
Cap space is the Bruins saving grace as they push forward and still try and compete for the Cup.
Have cap space left to plug Rask into lineup in early 2022.
Would love to sign Coleman but need that money for McAvoy in 2022-23. Option is there to sign a bargain rate 3LW as season approaches if training camp shows Lauko is not ready.

murray and oleksiak overpaid. oleksiak is like 3.5 mill and murray i doubt gets an offer over 2-2.5 mill so that saves bruins a lot of cap also grzz is better then both of them so idk why you have him third pairing, krech hall and rask all said in their zoom calls money was not a priority hall wants to stay in boston and rask and krech made it pretty clear they wouldnt play anywhere but boston, also rask is missing half the season he isnt getting top dollar. i say rask 1yr 3.5 mill, krech 1yr 4-4.5mill and hall 5yrs 6 mill. wagner could get atleast a 5th and ritchie a 3rd. as for compher having more speed or skill then debrusk that is false debrusk when on his game is much more skilled and his also very fast, the only thing compher is better at is two ability, thats a toss up i don't think bruins would make that trade still think debrusk stays or is moved in a package for a top LHD like ekholm, graves, hanifin etc someone bigger and has shutdown ability

So if that's an overpayment for Murray and Oleksiak that means the Bruins have them next year, correct. Good. LD last year was not good enough.
Rask, Krejci and Hall all want to stay in Boston but their contract offers still have to be respectful of their ability. We will see.
Wagner and Ritchie, if they get better picks great, just so long as they are not in Boston next year.
Was not comparing DeBrusk and Compher. Was comparing Compher with Coyle who was 3C this year.
DeBrusk in a package for Ekholm, Graves, Haafin? Going to have to move AT LEAST a first round pick with him to get that and that is something I said I was not willing to do.

ya for the debrusk trade for one those dmen i understand they would want more i said he would be apart of a package for them. maybe not so much graves though as colorado won't want to lose him for free to seattle. I see now though the compher coyle comparison which makes sense, coyle was hurt all season though which could be a reason to his lack of production. as for the contracts yes hall may get more then 6 i hope he would come cheap which it seems like he might but krech and rask will be cheap rask is missing half the season and krech is just a rental for one more yr of competing before they have to start retooling. as for oleksiak and murray those contracts are still just awful rather invest in martinez for around 5-6 and merril for 1.5. murray was not that good ive seen multiple NJ fans say they are glad hes gone. as for oleksiak hes good and has size but for 4.5 mil thats ridiculous for what he would actually bring to your team, hes a hitter and a shot blocker but hes not the type of guy you match up against a teams best players not unless hes paired up with mcavoy. another thing can't see bruins signing many free agents to long term contracts no more then 2 yrs for guys like oleksiak and murray they would be purely rentals to allow the younger d core develop a little more

We're not interested in Ritchie. CHI Declines. We have A LOT of bottom 6 forwards.

Oleksiak just got 4.6M for 5 years. Would have loved to see him paired with McAvoy. Leaves Martinez, Murray and Suter. None will be cheap. When you don't draft and develop you have to pay the price. Will be interesting to see it all play out.
