Well Winnipeg fans think their players are worth gold. You have to sign the man to an extension if you want some D.

I don't think Winnipeg can't afford to move Dubois right now, his value is at an all time low.
And honestly 2 years of Dumba is just as good, if not better, for this team as 1 year of PLD. Keep in mind, he's only got 1 more year, his cap hit is $5 mil and he has arbitration rights. Rarely do you see a salary go down in arb. Would you rather pay 6+ mil for a 50 point F or a 40 point 20+ min a night D man (which it seems the Jets desperately need)? With the guys Dubois played with, he should have been much better than 20 points in 41 games.....

You don't give up on a guy because of a down season in a weird, shortened, injury plagued, covid season. Dubois likely rebounds next year and gets back to being the 1B center he has been. If at the end of next season Dubois is still not back to normal, then the Jets can look at moving him.

Right now I would and I'm sure Jets management would take Dubois over Dumba 100 out of 100 times.

There's a massive difference when one player is one year to RFA and the other is 2 to UFA. In this case Dumba wouldn't be an appropriate opening bid.

Don't get me wrong, I've been on the PLD bandwagon since he was drafted. But he really needs to step up his game.
Jet's management will choose Dubois right now over pretty much anything else, cause of the cost it took to get him. They traded a good middle 6 C and the heralded team savior Teemu 2.0. He almost has to pan out. But right now it looks like CLB won that trade, and that's mostly because of Roslovic.

I'm not concerned that much. It's good for Roslovic, because he was never going to have a chance to be in the top 6 in Winnipeg, in Columbus he has a shot. Although, he started hot and ended up as a healthy scratch by season's end. In all likelihood he'll produce around 35-40 points a season in his best case.

The Jets got what they needed though once Dubois starts playing as the 1B he should be. I really liked Laine, but Dubois makes the Jets a better team than Laine did. At least in theory, if everything goes as it should and then the Jets have easily won the trade.

For right now, there is probably nothing reasonable that would make the Jets trade Dubois. They have no reason to move him when everyone thinks his value is low, so if someone seriously wanted Dubois they would need to pay full value, there would be no discount. They struggled for so long to find a top end 2C, they aren't going to give him up based on a small sample size. It's not their MO.

As a Wild fan I like this more than many of the crazy Eichel proposals I have seen. I think I agree this as written is more in the favor of MN. If I was proposing this it would be Dumba and a first for PLD and a 2/3

im not sold on dubois being anything better then a 2c and some night even that is a stretch. dumba has some short comings also but 3/4 dman pp specialist. eichel is perfect fit for minn if his health checks out and if rossi is not part of the trade.
dubois still leaves minn with gaping hole. too early to call rossi 1c he would absolutely be amazing 2c. dubois making to much to be a 3c his compete lvl that is where he is
i think minn can do better for dumba.
