The Eichel deal is nowhere even close. As for the Reinhart trade, I actually like it if the both are extended. I'm high on Dube, he definitely has potential.

I'd say that's a steal for the Flames, but they'd have to decline because of cap reasons. Replace Dube with Monahan and turn that first into a second and the Sabres got themselves a deal.

As much as the Preds may want to get out from under the Johansen contract, I can't imagine that's the deal they accept to do it.

That's an equivalent to the Rangers Eichel deal, 3 young 1st round players, a top Goalie prospect and the #1 overall pick in the draft for their Superstar. And of course NO Ranger fan takes that! Tell me I'm wrong, where's the Rangers fan who except that??

Honestly you should brace yourself for the Sabres to get less than what I proposed. The Rangers, Kings and Wild don't absolutely NEED Eichel to be contenders in the future. I am really high on Chytil, Lundkvist and Georgiev comparative to the players on the Sabres you listed.

I can understand being 'underwhelmed' with the lack of high-potential prospects coming back, but thats what happens with a disgruntled, injured superstar.

I think the Sabres should really go after blue-collar guys, though. Target Boston, Vegas or Colorado, ton of current depth guys plus high level prospects.

I'm really high on Lundkvist (almost an untouchable in my book). Pair him with Dahlin, which keeps him happy in Buffalo.
Chytil is a great 2C behind Cozens, or a high-skill, still young, top 6 wing.

Strome has been great in NY, too. He's become a solid leader and still plays well away from Panarin. His stats might not be as high, but he'd still be a 50 pt C in Buffalo for a season, and might sign cheap, or get moved at the deadline.

This deal might lack flashy names for 2021, but if anything, its probably a slight over-payment.
