Dvorak is a top-6 player for Arizona. The Coyotes aren't going to take a step backwards by trading him for futures or unknowns. They'll want at least one player of equivalent quality or two plyers who will make the roster this coming season. Also, keep in mind that the entire right side of their defense is on expiring contracts, with the exception of the guy they signed in order to have a defenseman qualified for the expansion draft. Replacing Dvorak with expansion-draft-fodder Kerfoot isn't appealing; Dvorak is a better player and signed for twice as long. And any "parallel" between Foligno and Dvorak is fallacious because Toronto is a talent-rich team seeking a rental for playoff depth, and had the spare asset (a first) to pay for him; Arizona knows that they need long-term improvement and is thin on both talent and disposable assets.
I think that if Arizona trades Dvorak at all (which would surprise me), it won't be for less than a first-round pick and a couple of players like Robertson and Liljegren. However, I think that they're really looking for a more established defenseman than a rookie; they have a slot open for a defenseman on their protected list, and Liljegren is exempt.
