Eichel is going to likely miss time with his new team because he's going to want surgery on his neck when he gets there. You're not going to be able to pull a trade like this for the 2C of a contender when there's a chance Eichel will miss considerable time.

Also, it will likely be Trocheck OR Jarvis as the centerpiece, not both.

Trocheck will never be the centerpiece because he has 1 year left on his deal. He's a rental.

How is a point per game player with a contract under 5 mil a rental? Either way that is more than the canes are going to give up. Take out Jarvis add in a 2nd rounder and id say its fair. Eichel is a great player but he has the neck injury and a 10 mil cap hit is tough to take on

Because hes 28 with 1 year on his contract making his cap hit basically a moot point, Sabres arent paying him after this year, hes not added value

Yeah, he is not value to you but we wouldn't add him in this deal anyways. We can get value from a team that is Center deprived

I think Timo for Sam makes sense as long as Sam wants to be in San Jose and is willing to sign a reasonable deal.

Oh, lol. I didn't even realize that one had Trocheck in it. Honestly, the add-ons don't really matter to me as much as the key piece does.

Calling him a cap dump in any context is wrong. He was on pace for 60-70 points in an 82 game season. He is NO context is a cap dump. He is a piece with good value, even with limited time remaining, because extending him isn't illegal!
