Description
If management is all hell bent on keeping the Fab 4 together, cheap risks need to be taken. Frankly I don't like it.

Let the Cap Dance v3.0 begin.

Détails additionnels:
The Yotes can really use a 3rd line centre. The bonus with Kerfoot is he can play further up the lineup than Crouse..... and can be slid to LW if need be. Offensive upgrade, more flexibility.
ARI
  1. Kerfoot, Alexander
Détails additionnels:
Leafs are not exactly dealing from a position of strength, but, this does a couple things. First and foremeost, it saves a couple million dollars. Secondly, Crouse plays a heavier game - which I think we all see the Leafs can use. Young enough to grow with the core, and inexpensive enough to be able to keep longer term.

Personally I wouldn't touch Ullmark with a 6 foot pole. If you didn't know Buffalo goalie coach was the same one the Pens had from 2016-17 on their 2 cup runs. He was credited with helping Murray become the goalie he was. Murray went to Ottawa and wasn't the same. Im afraid of that with Ullmark. I rather get Driedger, Reimer or some else via trade.

This team has worse depth scoring and the same defense, why would u expect a differenct result with this team? Not to mention Robertson and liljegren will 100% be regulars next year, also bogo won’t resign

Agree to disagree on Roberston and Liligren.

Robertson's small sample size with the Marlies was good, but does smack of 100% on the starting roster. I see a guy who will benefit tremndously with a full year of top 6 minutes in the AHL, and in 21-22, flanks JT and Nylander..... and should look fantastic doing it. Just not there on his roster spot beong guarentreed.

Liligren: his development has been hampered by injuried over the last couple seasons. I like his odds of making the club, but again, no guarentee. If he is a #6, we could do worse than Bogo as a #7..... he was good this year.

As for your scoring depth comment. No kidding. Did you really think that's getting fixed without miving one of the big 4 or Reilly?

Read my description. I said risks. Gusev is a risk. Staal (who I frankly think matches Kerfoot's production here) is a risk. Crouse has offensive upside that won't be realized in Arizona (think around 35 points), but that is a risk.

Keeping the big 4 100% means coming back withbthe same team and expecting a different result. Kinda why I titled it "Blah"..... and concluded with an "I don't like it".🤦‍♂️

To fix scoring they will most likely look to add a top 6 scorer by trade. Check the team I made titled “trading for Dvorak” (the trade I made for him was meh, pretend I put in a second rounder to get him as well)

Ok. I looked. Agree with the feedback. Dvorak is a legit top 6, and spare parts even with a 2nd doesn't get him. Dvorak = Roberston. Yotes won't take much less imo, and that is counterproducitve long term.

There is one simple fact here: to add scoring depth, one of the 4 go. My selection would be Marner as he would be 2 × $6 million deals.

But if management is bent on keeping them together, like it or lump it, there is a reality scoring depth won't be there.

The only hope is a LTIR injury that frees up cap space for the deadline.... even then, it may not work. Didn't this year.

I made a different team where I trade marner for Dvorak and 2 second rounders and with the extra money you can add Hoffman for around 4 mil and Doug Hamilton for around 8. And yes ur right it is a lot easier to move Mariners contract than people think.

I would have said Marner and some light wondow dressing for Dvorak and Garland..... but it's absoutely the right idea.
