Can someone give me a bit of the "tale of the tape" on Engvall? He seems to be a very popular trade piece to Dallas for a late round pick & I'm curious as to why and whether he'd be a good addition to the bottom-6 or if he's simply an AHL caliber player.

He's a good bottom 6 player, good size and speed but lacks finishing talent. Leaf fans would love him under normal circumstances but he makes north of 1 million so his contract can't be buried if/when he gets sent down over vets like Thornton or Simmonds and no one likes dead cap space

I don't know how much leverage Columbus truly has - There's a flat cap, and he's walking either way after his contract is up. A solid prospect, a 2nd rounder, and a proven top 4 D seems reasonable enough to me.

It would be if there were no other bidders. But there are. Many of them.
And the flat cap helps. He can be half retained to 2.75. He’s a super valuable trade chip and I would expect a much larger return. He’s arguably a top pair defenseman and making 2.75. Thays a dream come true for teams either looking to either save actual money or save room on the cap.

Better skating Comeau. And Bones loves him some Comeau. So... AHL caliber for most teams, 23 mins a night for the Stars

I'd consider him a worst version of Janmark. If you loved Janmark you'd love him a little less, and if you hated Janmark you'll hate him a little more.
