Not worth the price. Rather stick with what we have. Also don't like the idea of $11,000,000 for no postseason performance

I think everyone is being a somewhat prisoners of the moment when it comes to Marner (esp Leafs fans). If the price was right, I'd absolutely take on Marner in a heartbeat.

This guy is a 24 yr old proven 90 point player, you can say it's because of his supporting cast, but a lot of it is because of him. He was on pace for 30 goals this year and has averaged 90-100 points (per 82 games) each of the last 3 seasons. He would easily be the best player on the Devils and improve them a lot.

As far as as poor postseasons go, our problem has been getting to postseason, so I'd worry about that later.

$11 million contract is the dealbreaker

Yea fair point, he would def make us better no doubt. But I don't think we are ready yet realistically, Jack and Nico need to take the next steps before we are ready. Also tons of cap space, but tons of guys who gotta get paid eventually and that money will go fast with guys like Ty, Jack, Bratt, Zacha, Sharangovich, Kuokkanen, McLeod, Blackwood all expiring within 2 seasons or already expired. Granted they won't all be big extensions but my argument is the money will go fast. And also maintaining solid depth and breathing room for moves to be made.

I understand your reasoning. My counterargument is that we shouldn't be overvaluing our young players to the point where we are not going great players. Some of those players you mentioned are going to fail and will not be on the roster in a few years, and none of them have produced seasons comparable even to Marner's (18yr old) rookie season. Teams that win have difference makers/stars, Marner is and that's what this team needs. Plus with the cap going up in a few years, I don't think having Marner on the books at $11m is going to ruin this team's cap, even if all these players pan out.
