Future considerations. Trade with Seattle and let them pick EJ in the expansion draft. If he won't move his NMC, buy him out.

avs would probably have to add someone like kaut/bowers/timmins/barron to make that happen.

Yes, agree with you on that one. I would prefer Kaut, I don't think they will do trade if Seattle wants Timmins or Barron. At least I wouldn't.

They aren’t paying anybody a 1st to take EJ. If he is healthy he plays, if not LTIR. It isn’t complicated.

no idea what they do with him. but based on vegas' expansion draft it's going to cost more than a late 1st.

The thing is that I really like Graves, and if they can't get rid of EJ I think they will lose Graves to Seattle in the expansion draft.

That's a healthy discount from Grubauer.

It would probably take a 1st for Seattle to not take Graves or Donskoi. Then add on the compensation for them to take Johnson...

So. They have to lose someone don’t make it complicated. If they lose Graves, they have Barron and Helleson in the pipeline, Byram is going to be in the top 4 next year anyway.

Let them. Sakic isn’t going to get cute. Lose a player move on.

Yes, I'm afraid Gru wants 1-2 million more. In that case, they can take a cheaper alternative than Haula.
Barron and Helleson is not ready yet. They are in win-mode now and their window is now, can't wait for the youngsters to be ready. And they can't afford to risk it on EJ who always is injured.

Anyway, that's how I see it but I understand your point aswell. smile

And that worked out so well for teams in the VGK expansion. There is going to be significantly less moves this XD to keep from taking guys, teams will accept they are losing a guy and move on. If EJ is healthy he is significantly better than Graves.

im just saying what the price was and will likely be. if it's worth it or is their decision. flat cap and declining revenue might make it an acceptable option to teams.

It´s very importnant that they will get rid of EJ contract. Otherwise, other good players will be gone.

But he's skating now. Hard to believe that he won't be ready for next season.

concussions are tricky. no telling how long it takes to fully heal

if he is healthy the avs can still play him or buy him out. seattle is an option it just depends on the price.
