Duclair to MTL (with current injuries/lineup)

Description
Listening to TSN radio and hearing LeBrun saying that Arizona aren't looking for picks (due to weak upcoming draft) and want NHL ready prospects. I put this deal together.

Duclair having scored 20 goals last season, MTL will have to give up a 1st rd pick quality player, hence Scherbak who has raw potential and has good size. Andrighetto is a point a game player in the AHL and currently hot in the NHL right now (4pts in last 5 games). Let me know what you guys think!

Value looks ok, even slight overpayment. I would rather wait and see how Scherbak pans out though.

The guys has already make 2 teams, now to AHL, i can't see Arizona getting a former 1st pick for him. Specially a former 1st pick who didn't has his own chance already.

I agree with you. but with Duclair having scored 20 goals last year. I doubt ARI would take anything less.

When Duclair was with the Rangers he was traded to get Yandle, and i think Duclair was a key piece in that trade. As for being sent to AHL now, I think its more of a wake up call than anything else.

Is getting Duclair for Scherbak worth it though? Aren't we trading four quarters fro a dollar here? Scherbak is a talented winger just as Duclair is. Only difference is Duclair has been given his chance to show what he's capable of (Good and bad), Scherbak hasn't yet.

I think this is an overpayment, Andrighetto and a 2nd rounder would be fair enough in my opinion... I am rarely agreed with.

I hope you're right! if ARI would take Ghetto and a 2nd/3rd for Duclair that would be an amazing trade from the Habs perspective. But when you put yourself in Arizona's shoes, the return is not nearly enough for a prospect who already has a 20 goal season under his belt.

Yeah its true... Ghetto was on pace for ~32 points last year, Duclair had 44, plus Duclair is 2 years younger. Perhaps something like Andrighetto and De La Rose is more enticing for Arizona.

Looking at this again... 44 points are similar to Gallagher numbers except Gallagher has been consistently producing that as opposed to Duclair's single good year. That being said, I would not trade Gallagher for a "Scherbak and Andrighetto" type deal unless I thought his value was severely inflated by a single good season.

You know what they would want? The same calibre player but either a young goalie or defenseman. Then it could work.

Also, Andrighetto has been deemed almost worthless. Anytime a player goes through waivers and isn't picked, means teams don't even want to waste a roster space on him. Arizona had the chance to have him for free and passed the chance, now they'll trade Duclair for him? Now that's not to say Andrighetto isn't good. He is not bad but his apparent value is too low to be used in a trade of any value. He's a sweetner in a trade if anything.

DLR? We're all Habs fans here, right? We all agree that DLR brings just about nothing to this team and couldn't put the puck in an empty net let alone one with a goalie in it. He's really bad. What he has going for him is his defensive awareness and his size but other than that, he's useless. We're not the only team that knows this. Scouts see that too. His value used to be pretty high. Former 2nd rounder, big swede who could play both ends of the ice. Now? He's a last resort call up to play on the 4th line. Why he gets chosen to play? He won't hurt you defensively. Therrien would rather have a guy that won't hurt his team then a guy who could potentially help the team offensively but is subject to the same errors Galchenyuk or Radulov would make.

i put ghetto in the trade as a "sweetner" like you said. Scherbak is main piece for the habs, ghetto is a roster spot just in case ARI doesn't want to call up Scherbak yet.

Yeah it's hard to argue with your logic there, I am certainly biased by watching as a Habs fan. Sven did a quite serviceable job on the first line last year, a much lower ceiling than Duclair though. I don't think you're giving De La Rose enough credit. Yeah is completely ineffective as a offensive forward, but he strong, and an excellent skater, good positionally... there is value there. He is at best a bottom 6 centre, and probably not an NHL regular. Then again, what is Duclair really?
