Hyman stays in Toronto for that, and probably more term.

I'm a hawks fan. I think we do it. Buyout neal and its like 1.9 mil dead cap to land Broberg and a 1st in a much stronger 2022 draft. Murphy is worth that pick and Strome is probably worth a 2nd and a 3rd at worst, adding in the neal buyout offsets the rest of the value

Putting it like that makes more sense. I still feel the value is off though. And yes like you say the 2022 1st holds more value.

Last year there were reports that Hyman would be willing to take a paycut to stay in Toronto. Also with Andersen's 5 mil coming off the books, the Leafs easily match your pathetic offer. The literal only reason he hasn't already been resigned is because of Seattle. Also, huge thanks for giving us Hallander and Amirov for Kapanen.

Murphy is the Hawks best defender, and Broberg is a LHD...this deal would make more sense to me if you swapped Broberg for Bouchard, which makes less sense for EDM.

Hawks have their future at RD alreayd in place (Boqvist, Mitchell, Regula). Ld is much more uncertain and specifically the hawks are looking for the future top pair guy on that side
