Description

Although this trade is tough to make, the Ave's specifically said they wanted a top defenseman, a first round pick, and possibly more in exchange for their captain. The Hawks could also change Hjalmarsson for Seabrook, but I think they would rather part with Hjalmarsson than Seabrook.

I think the value is right but I highly doubt the Blackhawks would trade Hjalmarsson before his contract expires. They've got the 4 defensemen they need for the playoffs this year in Keith, Seabrook, Hjalmarsson, and Campbell. Expect Coach Q to ride those 4 heavily like he did the 4 defensemen including Oduya in 2015.

Maybe that's what it would take, but I'd rather go into the playoffs without Landy than give Hammer and hino without the 1st.

As a Wild fan I say make the trade. I'd much rather face the Hawks without Hammer in the Playoffs.

Less than $10m cap space and only 12 players under contract next year, not even taking into account bonus overages.
