More than just a shakeup

Might be wishful thinking but it could work. I think if we give Seattle Morgan frost that would be enough for them to take on jakes contract. I would love tkachuk and would gladly give up TK sanheim and a 2nd. If MT has fallen out of favor in CAL then getting a player like TK ( similar agitator style) along with a still young top 4 dman plus a 2nd just might do it. Might have to throw in a sweetener such as Patrick as I mentioned.

A lot of you might scoff at the dumba trade but it makes sense. Right now they have 4 dmen making over 6 million. That’s a lot of money on the back end. They need to spread it out a little more. They get a young RHD in return to fill the void and some cost control along with give them a boost on the PP in JVR ( which they most definitely need). Wild are an up and coming team and could use some leadership in the forward group. A former first round pick the could fulfill a bottom 6 role in another year or two as he develops. Add in a mid and high pick.

Signing Hamilton, Oleksiak and Coleman give some much needed grit and balance to the lineup.

As far as long term outlook, as it stands right now it would be tight in the following offseason to fit everyone in so we would need to find a taker for ghost at that point if he’s not gone by then. York would fill his spot by then anyways. Would also be free from Hayes’ NMC so if we can move him it’s an option as well. I think these numbers would be in the ballpark as far as extensions
G- 3 yr - 5mil AAV
Couts- 6 yr - 8mil AAV

Farabee - 4yr- 3.5mil
Allison- 2yr - 1.5 mil
Laczynski 2yr 1.25mil

That’s about 28 mil which breaks us about even before moving ghost. That gives some room on contracts above along with adding a depth Dman to replace Hagg/Braun and promoting a 4th liner from within.

Because I traded frost and possibly Patrick we should aim to draft a high ceiling C in the first round this year.

Tkachuk isn't getting traded unless he is a pending UFA and told us he isn't signing here again, demands a trade, or a MASSIVE overpay where you WILL lose the deal no matter what is offered
Also this deal is worse than the other Tkachuk to Philly deal a few posts ago

Minnesota 21/22 top 4 D payroll: $27.1ish mil

Philly's 21/22 top 4 D payroll (after Dumba trade): $25.85.

I don't know value-wise whether Minny says yes or no, but aren't you essentially doing the same thing as you said was bad after making that trade? A $1.25 mil difference isn't really that much...

If we trade with Philly, I wanna Frost, 1st and no JVR's money back in the deal.

P.S. I like your idea to trade for Tkachuk (not the trade itself) to revive that Broad Street Bullies feeling. You need more gritty players IMO.
