Really not interested in trading away draft picks and trying to repair the roster through free agency. It's these kinds of moves that got the Canuck's in the hole they're in now.

I could see the Sabres being open to this move I could see the Sabres making a move like that if Okposo goes on LTIR next year, if not I don't know if they can fit Erikksons contract under the cap

Only way I see that Sabres trade is if there is an Eichel Trade they go into a full rebuild sell the team to new ownership and move to Québec

I mean I think it would be a smart move. 5 million cap hit for 1 year and you get a 1st round pick that could very possibly be a lottery pick in a stacked draft

I’m sick of this move to Quebec BS, the Sabres are here to stay.

I think the deal is pretty good but I don't think the Sabres will have the cap space after Joki, Dahlin, Reinhart, Ullmark or another decent FA goalie, some of the other low level guys that need to be resigned and still having Skinner and Okposo - I'll admit I haven't done the math- or maybe someone will support my new rule that the team with the worst record gets to buyout one bad contract without cap penalty.

I think there is at least a slim chance Okposo goes on LTIR and if so I think they can make this work

That's why I targets FAs in their 20s still. And signed 3 yr deals at most. You could maybe we cant get those done but not wanting to is silly. This team would be outside contending. And you basically would rather have a 1st round pick?
