I mean, Bean and Hakanpaa work well together, but I just want to see Bean get more ice time. If Skjei is out for next game, we'll see how the new pairs can do.

Overall, since he left new york he has gotten worse. He's been good at jumping in on the rush, shutting down dangerous plays, and throwing the body a bit, but right now he is technically injured and one thing I can assure you is that he is certainly not worth the 1st round pick we gave up for him. He isn't terrible though.

Yeah he always seemed like a guy who could be good as a second pairing guy, I think the few good seasons along with the contract he singed set too high of expectations

Think Canes fans are underestimating how concerned the Canes are about Bean’s ability to be strong on pucks and get the puck out of his own zone.

maybe not, but get him in some more games in the regular season in case he doesnt get playoff time.

Or maybe see what else you have in case you need it. Bean has 1 assist in his last 15 games. He’s consistently been taken off the ice in 5v5 situations in the 3rd periods. I really hope the kid works out...but If I’m the Canes I’m seriously considering the prospects of protecting Slavin, Pesce, and Skjei, signing Dougie after Expansion, and leaving Bean unprotected.

Maybe he's just had his time this season, and he can hopefully bounce back playing a higher role next season. It's probably either Ryan or Gardiner taking his spot for the playoffs.
