Description
Fixing all EDMs problems in one stop. Unrealistic on two fronts. Melnyk being willing to take on this much bad cap, and Holland being willing to make this big of waves.

Didnt do lines. Dont ask.

Broke this down as 3 different trades, so that people don't see a 4 for 5+picks and lose their ****... But this is one trade. OTT doesn't do the Neal one unless the Tierney/Gudb trades go through.

Unrealistic. This would be EDM wanting to reward Drai and McDavid and building more than a team made of 2 players.

Forward depth improvement, systems players who would do well in EDM. Both play PK, and up and down the lineup. ConnorBrown has history with Connor McDavid.

EDM gets to dump 14million in Neal/Turris/Chiasson (in a flat cap), Adds Brown, Adds Tierney @ 50%, rents Dzingel and Gudbranson

OTT gets 1st/2nd/3rd/5th Lavoie and Puljujarvi in compensation for taking all that bad cap/upgrading depth.

Teams spending firsts on pure rentals, and you're upset about adding depth for years to come and dumping 14M?

Talk about working at McDonalds from experience?

I think the only part of it that Ottawa balks at is the James Neal portion. They love Connor Brown (for a good reason), and Neal just isn't good any more. With Dadonov falling off a cliff for them, it's hard to justify taking on another winger who is on the wrong side of 32 and crumbling away. Positionally, Neal doesn't crack their top 4 left wingers. He's below Tkachuk, Stützle, and Paul, and they will want to play Formenton. He also doesn't crack their top 4 right wingers. He's below Batherson, will play below newly acquired JP, will get fewer chances than Dadonov, and will not get in over Watson who is a lock on their 4th line. That's not enough to take on a guy who doesn't crack their lineup.

Otherwise, yeah. Sens would say yes to the Tierney "part", and would likely be good with the Dzingel/Gudbranson return. Just don't see them being willing to part with Connor Brown unless it's an overpay, and certainly not with Neal coming back.

I would hate to lose Puljujarvi, and I assume it would be a huge hit to morale in the dressing room. One of the best defensive forwards in the game this season. I would 100% do a 1st, B prospect and even a 2nd/3rd to get rid of Neal though. Tierney trade seems a bit unrealistic, imo you're probably underrating Lavoie. Dzingel/Gudbranson trade is interesting, I think Dzingel is really the only one of the 2 that would be of much use though.

Adding depth for years to come by having every winger in the top 6 being a 4th liner? Seems pretty ridiculous. The only upgrade is by adding two 3rd liners and to accomplish this by trading a former top 5 pick, a decent prospect and 3 high round picks. Not worth it to dump a couple contracts and for depth.

Connor Brown would be the 4th highest scoring forward on Edmonton. He has more points than Neal and Poolparty combined. You upgrade your 3C to a good PKer. You add 2 rentals and dump 14M

I question your talent evaluation and value evaluation.

Ottawa doesn't accept this. Edmonton would be making away like bandits

If you don't take that trade, you should never get into sports management. Puljujarvi and a first FOR ****ING BROWN? That's a steal right there.

It appears reading comprehension isnt your strong suit

You forgot to include dumping 12 million dollars in your evaluation.

Neal's contract is done in two years, just in time to sign this year's rookies.

Chiasson is done at the end of the season.

Turris has a short contract, after next season it's done.

Keep the picks, buyout Neal. It's pretty **** simple. You're giving up way to much to save 3,566,677 on cap next season, and then 1,916,677 for the next three seasons after that.

God some people on this site are just flat out dumb.
