What we should do

Créé par: YTSnipeCity

Description
Chiarot is expected to return soon, so I'm not too confident Bergevin would still consider go looking for another Dman, but I think he should, considering the poor performances recently on defense. Possible it doesn't happen though since Kulak would be the odd man out despite his good performances recently.
All in all, this team could make a playoff push, especially with Gally back once healthy.
Transactions
1.
MTL
  1. Hall, Taylor (4 000 000 $ retained)
  2. Choix de 4e ronde en 2021 (BUF)
Détails additionnels:
Make a playoff push, worse case he leaves in the summer, giving us 4+ mil cap relief Drouin would've been wasting, could be used to resign Tatar, Danault, etc.
Adding a pick cuz realistically Drouin still has more potential and a better contract
2.
MTL
  1. Dunn, Vince
Détails additionnels:
Contact Ext: 2 yrs, 2.25 mil
Similar trade to Montour, but more value due to age and performance

I get that but Drouin is also struggling. I was listening to TSN 690 and they made a strong case that the biggest reason for this trade would be 1. Hall's hunger to be on a decent team and do something important and 2. getting a huge cap relief in the offseason. By doing this, it would hopefully motivate Hall to play better and not let him lose out on a bunch of money come the off season. Listen I like Drouin the guys got amazing talent, but his time is up we baby him too much and treat him like he's the prized possession cuz he's from here. I think it would be valid to trade him away, maybe give him a confidence boost playing alongside Eichel next year.

I see what you mean but throwing the guy in Buffalo is like torture. I bet everyone in the league has 1 team on their no-trade list (Buffalo)

hahahaha that's always possible but if Eichel is able to stick it out I think Drouin could do. Take it as a punishment for him. Worse case he spends one and a half seasons there then goes off to free agency

True true but 1 and a half years in Buffalo feels like 30 million years the way they've been playing.
Also Eichel I think has had enough, might see a blockbuster not this TDL but in future

First of all, that is not the better of your two 2nds in the Dunn trade. More importantly, you need to switch Brook in for Harris and wait until summer, and you might have a shot.

that's why i said whichever is the better of the two lol, i didn't mean the one i picked was. Brook for Harris is fair but I think Harris is better honestly. He's still in college and younger with more potential. If this were to be done in the summer i don't think its happening. But now we got Merill lol so i guess that settles it.

@mokumboi is on the money here, solid offer though. Maybe Poehling and the lower 2nd instead of Brook and the higher one.

1- Ah, gotcha. But I'm pretty sure we know which pick will be higher.
2- Harris is an LD, which we have a slew of. Brook is an RD, and we could use a solid prospect there.

Taking Drouin’s contract is doing you a favor, and he is a net negative right now. It will cost you more to move that contract. You’re not getting an extra pick either.
