The Reilly deal doesn't make much sense for Ottawa. If they're moving him they'd likely prefer a RHD prospect like Bode Wilde, or RW prospect like William Dufour with a mid/late round pick to balance out the deal as needed.

I really think that it is a bad idea to sell Gaudreau. This is completely contradicting the idea of buy low, sell high. His value is at an all-time low. As someone from Regina, I love Eberle, but in a normal year, his value would not be higher than Gaudreau's like it is this year. Lamoriello seems like a guy who plays it extremely safe and right now, Eberle is the safer bet. I personally feel like Calgary can get a better return than this either now or after waiting a few months. Can Gaudreau's value really get any lower than this? He has one year left. I personally would keep him until late next year. It's a risk, but whatever lol.

Idk there were gaudreau trade rumors this offseason and after a very disappointing season i think they may want to retool at the very least.
