He’s on the trip with them and is likely beginning practice this week... if he’s not 100% by TDL it’s looking like he’ll at least be 90% and ready to start playing very soon

what was his injury? Andersen have a upperbody whil campbell have a lower body and seems campbell can play through it better. but idk all depends how he comes back i guess.

Eh... I mean Kuemper at even 80% is just most goalies at 100% and the key for them is the playoffs 😕

Having an injured goalie, sitting in a hotel room for a week, and then expecting to game ready for the NHL....that's a real gamble and really not worth for the Leafs
In the meantime the Leafs lose a reliable Kerfoot, and even Liljegren might be needed this year.

Leafs overpay for Kuemper, then lose Campbell at the exp draft, and have to overpay to get a reliable backup or 1B. Kuemper is getting up there and has only played over 31 games once in his career.

So really Leafs are back to square one.

I like Kuemper, but it doesn't make any sense for the Leafs.

It’s a knee, but he’s already doing on-ice activities so it’s not serious. When he’s 100% he’s a real game changer, if Toronto think they can win a cup this year and they have concerns about their goalie situation there is almost no price too high to pay to upgrade. Banners fly forever

There’s no guarantee Campbell is taken, there’s going to be a ton of goalies for Seattle to choose from. If you’re that concerned about losing Campbell protect him instead and gamble that Keumper is taken. But like I said above if the Leafs win a cup with Keumper then it’s all worth it regardless of what happens afterwards

As stated above, he’s on the cusp of practicing with the team already, so it’s more like a goalie at 90% health gets a week to get to 100% before getting a practice or 2 under his belt before he can get in the lineup.

As for the return, Kerfoot is in literally every single Leafs proposal on this website, so I find it interesting that all of a sudden you want to “cry poor” about losing him. Liljegren has been passed on the organizational depth chart year after year so it’s not like he’s a hot commodity. I don’t even really like him as a prospect he just fills an organizational need for the Coyotes.

Leafs already have a solid shot at deep run if they do nothing, this is a big overpay for an injured goalie they can't protect during the offseason.

A more sensible trade for TO is we'll send you Kerfoot, Liljgren and a 1st and 2nd pick and we'll take Garland, Brassard and Osterele

The reason Kerfoot is in so many Leafs proposals is for the Leafs to take on cap, he's the guys that has to be traded. Nothing wrong with his play. I haven't suddenly cried poor at all about Kerfoot. Leafs need him at centre. So please don't make up falsehoods what I have been saying about Kerfoot all season to suit your argument
Liljegren. Gee, he just turned 22, he hasn't been bypassed at all young Dmen in the Leafs organization except for Sandin. Liljegren might play the Leafs this season, and is expected to be a Leaf next season.

Have you done a simulation? There's thirty 35yo goalies and jake Allen.

Considering the Leafs can protect the majority of their big pieces, Campbell would almost definitely be grabbed.

So, the alternative you are proposing is to pay that huge price for Kuemper, just to have him selected after playing 10-20 games.

Oh.. your right, that works out much better.

These comments lead me to believe you have very little knowledge about the players you are proposing to acquire, so maybe just take leafs fans word for it that the trade doesn't make sense from the Leafs perspective.

If I took Leafs fans advice on how valuable players were then they could go grab any player they want for Kerfoot and a second round pick.

No one here knows values, regardless of team affiliation. This off-season Stepan was supposed to have negative value and yet he went for a second round pick. I’m simply stating my opinion of value, like you are.

To be honest I don’t know anything about Liljegren as a prospect, just that he’s been “on the cusp” for 3 years now and he’s the first prospect of any value that Leafs fans on this site throw in a trade. Kerfoot seems to me to be a luxury 3C for the Leafs and if they want to improve their goaltending then he’s someone they can afford to lose.

Fair, I have been so desensitized to Kerfoot because he’s on every proposal on here. Same with Liljegren tbh. All I’m saying is that if the Leafs think Keumper gives them a better chance to win a cup then their current tandem then why not?

Yeah, well value is only half the story with this trade though. Leafs don't want term. They're in a good spot for the exp draft, i doubt they are grabbing a player to throw their plans this summer out of whack.

You are overexposed to Liljegren because he's in the Leafs system, and he pops into trade proposals frequently in short-sighted fans ACGMs. In reality he's 22 yo, and would likely be in the NHL this year, if it wasn't for his team looking to contend. If he was Canadian, he would have still been in the CHL 3 years ago, so it's not as if he is past his prime, or should be a 3 yr NHL vet.

Leafs have 2 top prospects Sandin and Robertson, and he's in the next tier with Amirov, Hirvonen, etc. He's was run through his paces at the AHL the first couple years, trying to build up his defensive game, the reins have been off of him the last couple of years, and his offence has been pretty impressive. His ceiling in 2nd pair 2-way dman that can QB your 2nd PP. More likely settles in as a solid 5th.

Kerfoot won't be traded for a goalie. He's got too much versatility in his game. Can play C/W, top 6 or bottom 6, decent on PP, good on PK, the only natural C that PKs. Also Engvall is still a pretty big ?? at C, he's only played C off and on for about 3 years (in his life). So only way Kerfoot moves is if Leafs find another decent 3C.

Especially in the case of Leafs trades, folks always look at the additions but never the subtractions.

2 weeks ago that’s a conversation I wouldn’t mind having. But the Coyotes are back in the playoff race. Currently hold the 4 spot with a 3 point cushion over STL and SJS. Garland has been a large part of their success, so he’s not going anywhere

Can Arizona pay him? That's the real question, Arizona wasn't making money with fans in the stands they certainly aren't now. That's my thought process, sell him for a mitt full of already signed players/prospects and acquire the draft capital lost year

They have roughly $30 million coming off the payroll after this season. They can afford to pay him.
