From @FriedgeHNIC's 31 Thoughts: the Glendening trade market seems to be well-poised for Yzerman to get a solid return, especially if Edmonton's worry is being outbid. I don't think a 2nd round pick is out of the question.

Go read fridges column today and all the talks are he's going to get a 2nd or 3rd and edm is in the lead. You should set yourself up for disappoinment if you don't want it to happen

Not for teams that are going to miss the playoffs and don't have a lot of cap space.

LOL, the Canucks aren't buyers at the TDL and certainly won't pay a 2nd for Khaira because it doesn't make sense logically.

The oilers are in the playoff hunt though this came from friedman after talking to tippett. Again I'm not saying it, but based on this information, doesn't seem out of wack. People saying he's going to get a 6th or 7th are way off. maybe it's not a 2nd, bit could see a 3rd and 4th or 3rd and 5th

This is what extending Barrie sets us up for. A scenario where we have Broberg, Bouch and Barrie in the lineup. Those 3 guys need sheltered minutes, and can't PK. That leaves 3 penalty killers (Samorukov, Nurse, Larsson). I figure Holland wants Bouch developed into a well-rounded defender, so it's possible that he penalty kills but I doubt Holland builds a roster that forces him into that role in his 2nd full season. The solution is to keep Bear, he can play in key moments and penalty kill. With this lineup, Tippet sits Broberg in the press box all year and lets Lagesson/Niemalienen/the extra D-man penalty kill. Barrie got benched in the last few minutes when we had a 1 goal lead against Winnipeg. We don't need a passenger like that going forward, save the sheltered minutes for rookies, not our top 2 RD!

Why not a 1st round pick + a prospect??? He didn't specify what he figured the current bid was at, didn't even mention a specific draft pick. Glendening wouldn't even be in the lineup on most buyers this TDL. What team do you think would give up a 2nd rounder for LGD?

Edmonton would so they don't get outbid was the assumption when he said it.

Lgd market is about what staal got, 3rd + 4th or 5th, but if they really want him and not get outbid will take a 2nd. It's not me saying it, what he said. All I'm saying is all the people on here saying he's getting a 5th with retention are far off and should prepare themselves for giving up more then they want for him.

I really don't think he was assuming Edmonton would trade a 2nd for LGD so they don't get outbid. A deadline move for a guy like LGD is fairly unprecedented, especially in a season like this so who knows. You might have been right all along, we'll see

My planning is that Broberg spends 21-22 in Bakersfield and comes to Edmonton in 22-23. Krusty can absolutely play the right side penalty killing and so can a guy like Koekkoek. When you have Broberg, samorukov, Nurse, Bouchard and Barrie as defenders Broberg and samorukov play the right side too. Broberg especially is mobile enough to play either side and comes from Europe where he’s played more right side than Left even.

Didn't recognize that this was for 2022-23. Ignore my posts and I'll ignore this thread cause it's inane to me.
