Holloway was taken in the first round last year, so him plus a first round pick equals two first round picks. Saying Russell is a 6/7 Dman just tells me you don’t have a clue what he does. He is currently spotting in at 2LD and is doing it well. Giving him greater responsibility over the younger D helped stabilize the defence and helped get Edmonton out of the funk they were in early in the season. A 6/7 dman is not capable of doing that. While zadorov would certainly be an upgrade over Russell, the difference is no where near 2 firsts.

According to your logic, four firsts gets you Jack Eichel, and two firsts gets you Subban, Zadorov, and Carpenter. So just package up those three players with two first rounders and see if you can get Buffalo fans to agree to give you Eichel. You can’t.

This whole player evaluation is skewed so that your team wins the trade. It’s just not reasonable for Edmonton to be handing you assets like that.
