Only mentions talks begun with Ghost Gus and picks for Ekholm and Arvi. Could see this being a fair final deal.

Yea Farabee isn't going anywhere. This is an above average offer. Honestly I think it's too much from Philly but that's me

Because you are a Flyers fan

Ekholm = Frost + 1st

Now you need to pay for Ardvidsson ...

Gost and Gus have no value to NSH

I’m a Nashville fan and this is actually a good offer. Ghost does have value especially if we go full rebuild and trade Ellis. Ghost has 2 years left at 4.5 which isn’t a lot. He’s a good 2nd pair defenseman. Arvy doesn’t have a ton of value either because his production is not great he needs Joey to succeed he can’t make plays for himself. Thinking they need to add Farabee is delusional that kid is a star he’s already better than Arvidsson.

Where did I said adding Farabee ?
NSH aren’t trading Josi-Ellis and you could get wayyyy more in seperate trade for Arvidsson and Ekholm

Pacioretty didn’t had a good season for MTL and still got traded for Suzuki + Tatar + 2nd round pick. Arvidsson have more value than you think

But Max had years of production before he was traded Arvi does not he has 3 seasons of good production and last year was decent. If Nashville wants to go full rebuild they’d be smart to move Ellis especially with his age and cap hit. They could get more I really don’t think so because Ekholm will get a 1st and Frost. They only get more if they see Ghost as a cap dump (which he’s not) and then can ask for another piece.

I mean that's
2 really good prospects
1st round pick
2nd round pick
Ghost - can hold down the fort until prospects develop
Gus - we trade him for more futures

I'm fine with this as a Nashville fan.

Both Zamula and Frost are too good for an Ekholm deal along with a 1st. I think one of them could be in an Arvidsson deal along with a 1st. I’m not sure downgrading one of those 1st rd picks is worth upgrading a B/C prospect to Frost or Zamula.

Other things to think about, this decimates the ELC talent when Patrick, Farabre, and Sanheim will all need pay raises within 2 years without any big deal coming off the books. And none of this makes sense from an expansion perspective. You either go 4-4-1 and lose one of TK/Lindholm/Patrick/Arvidsson or 7-3-1 and lose one of Ekholm/Myers/Sanheim, Seattle probably doesn’t take a 32 year old winger making more than 7 mil with term. Add that lost player to the cost and PHI gets set back quite a bit.

This is the beginning of the window. No need to put the team in this much of a pickle and throw all the chips in now. Fletcher made a big mistake with expansion last time and I can bet he won’t make the same one twice.

Frost and a 1st is too much for Ekholm. If you are using the Muzzin deal as a base the prospect this somebody like Andrae or Ratcliffe.

I think you’re mistaken on the window. Best window they have is the next 2 years with this core. Couturier is on a bargain of a contract there is no reason to just waste away having a contract like that. Expansion draft worries shouldn’t even be a problem. You can make deals with Seattle to not take Ekholm. Fletcher made a deal with Vegas to not take Dumba

Ghost has played well this year and been better then Provorov shockingly. I wouldn’t view him as a dump necessarily. Gustafsson sure he’s an expiring contract dump NSH could look to flip. Zamula is also a top 3 prospect in the Flyers eyes and ahead of York in development. Obviously different teams have different values on prospects. Think it’s a big payment by the Flyers but that’s just me.

Yeah don’t think many people know how good Zamula is since he was undrafted out of Russia. Was reported NSH scouts were at a Lehigh game I would assume they were scouting him.

I’m a Wild fan and watching Tuch still stings. I completely agree that Coots is on a steal now but with as young as the roster is, I’ve gotta think they would plan on the window being a bit wider. With the right incentive, you could probably clear Voracek or JVR to Seattle.

I know you’re more in tune with the Flyers than I am, but I see a team that’s strong down the middle and has young wingers coming into form along with potential on the backend. I also don’t think Ekholm and Arvidsson make you a real contender this year, even if it does make you better. Going all is a good strategy at some point, I just don’t think you’re there yet.

We’ve been rebuilding for 6 years and this core has had to sit through it and deal with mediocrity. They have plenty of prospects to be able to make a move like this and it not hurt them. I personally think this team would be much better with these additions. I don’t think you realize how much of a difference Niskanen’s 25 minutes a night made for this team last year. And Ekholm is better then him

I’ve been a big Niskanen fan since his days at UMD so I feel you. I was surprised Fletcher didn’t address it earlier but he needs to do something about it now. I don’t think Ekholm on his own is a bad move, a late 1st and B/C prospect (I maintain Frost/Zamula are too good) is a small price to pay for his services and expansion implications. I also think a target like Savard or Goligoski is a better option from a cost/benefit perspective given they both play the right side, can log big minutes, provide the lockdown you need, and cost much less.

Just my opinion but we will see. I also really want Dumba to go to PHI for Frost and a 1st so I have alternative motives here. And for what it’s worth, I really want the Flyers to knock the Pens out of the playoffs since we have their 1st, and screw those guys.

Yeah understand all that I’m just a firm believer come expansion time it wouldn’t cost a crazy amount to do a deal with seattle to not take Ekholm. 22 y/o RFA controlled Dumba cost Tuch. I don’t see a 31 y/o on an expiring deal costing more then a B prospect and maybe a 3rd. I wouldn’t mind Savard but big pass on Golo. I like Dumba I just don’t know if he is the fit. Idk what it is with Provorov but his game just gets worse somehow when he plays with more offensive orientated D men at least in this stage of his career.

Yeah Hextall found undrafted gems with Zamula and Meyers. His numbers were very good his last year in the CHL. Then he followed it up with that performance in WJC on a pair with Romanov. He’s interesting reminds me of Sanheim but with a nasty edge in his game. Would suck to trade him but would still have York

I would bet it’s a trust issue with Provy, he always knew Nisky was gonna be there if he tried to make something happen. I’ll use Dumba as an example here since I’ve watched him the past 4 years and he *could* be a fit in PHI.

Dumba and Brodin are so successful because they trust each other. Early on, Dumba pressed because he knew Brodin always had his back. But Dumba has matured defensively since his injury and you see that in Brodin jumping into the play much more, meaning Dumba is taking the defensive responsibility. That is really what I see this year from Dumba, he’s smarter about when to jump into the play and more cognizant of how to make the right defensive play.

I think he could fit with Provy given that development, as 3 pro years is a lot for defensemen. It would be better to come in during the summer though and MIN is willing to protect him first. Just something to consider.

Yeah it’s definitely trust issues. You can tell he is just thinking way too much this season instead of just playing his game. But he could end up being a fit but I agree summer would probably be the best time.

Fair enough, I can understand non flyers fans not knowing much about zamula. But I think the kid is gonna be something special. Huge frame and can skate and move the puck very well
