If they can get something substantial for Blackwell, then so be it. But in all honesty, I have loved his game so far. Having both him and Rooney under Contract next year at such a miniscule hit is nothing short of fantastic. I would actually prefer holding onto him.

I think Kaapo Kakko could be a key component of a possible Eichel trade. Few teams have the talent pipeline and the potential to win next season that the Rangers have. Maybe throw the LAK and COL are in the mix, as well.

The issue is the expansion draft

Not with him, though. Not only is this performance completely out of the blue for him, but he's playing on an expiring Contract once the Expansion Draft hits. I think that makes Howden, Gauthier or maybe Lemieux much more attractive. Younger guys with more term. Don't see the Kraken going for Blackwell.
