Stars are awful at even strength. They managed at the beginning of the year because of their PP. Even during these games they were bad at 5 on 5 against bad teams.
Their system is a textbook system from the ‘50 and even a coaching change would do not much because of lack of practice time.
This will surely be the most incredible collapse. Going from a SC final to a lottery pick.
I have watch all their games and it’s torture.
Hawks will grab that 4 spot. All these talented young player growing besides the incredibly Kane are a joy to watch. And Kane just scored his 400 while I was typing this.
I admit that they offensively have been miserable. It's kinda proven by the fact that Klingberg has been our best forward on even strength. The only problem is that he's a D.
Pavelski and Radulov have also more than a point per game, but that's mostly due to their PP.
I'm still optimistic. I don't think we're that bad. The game against Tampa, we lost 5-0, but Stars didn't particularly look bad in terms of mistakes. The play was just anemic and inefficient. Completely different from CBJ and NSH in their latest games - their play looked very confusing to say the least.
I think this team needs a some kind of wake up call. But as long as the coaching system and the GM keep up being as conservative as they are, there'll be no shakeup coming.
If Stars upgrade in terms of performance in the next 15 games, I'd consider an upgrade like this. But if they keep on sucking, then it's time to close the curtains on this season and enhance our prospect pool.
Stars have played 4 games less than other teams. There's potentially 8 points there, which could be very, very significant, as the season comes to a close.
