I think fans are little harsh for players that sit for long periods of time, and then are suddenly inserted into the lineup and then the same fans expect the players to compete at high NHL level.
Barbanov had a good and his best game Wednesday. Certainly worthy of more action if can continue that play.

I think when players sit for long periods of time there's probably a reason. I personally haven't seen anything in his game that could be considered anything but mediocre. Maybe he can build off of his "best" game!

You're right but why would Galyenchuk or some of the others be better choices?

Just because Galchenyuk has produced in this league at one time. Now I grant that was a while ago, but he did. 30 goals and 56 points. It doesn't make sense to trade assets away to bring him in if we're not going to give him a fair chance. But it has to be in a spot that he can succeed in, playing him on the 4th line would make no sense. In fact, I would rather see Barabanov in that role than Galchenyuk.
