Basically what Muzzin returned (a 1st, and a couple B prospects). If Philly needs NSH to retain $ or take back a small salary dump (ie Hagg), Philly either adds picks or offers better quality prospect(s) to compensate for that.

Philly isn't the only team they can trade him to. NSH could protect four defensemen in expansion (It's not like they have too many forwards to protect right now anyway). They'll likely make other roster moves, so all this expansion protection discussion might be rendered moot. They've got more options than just accepting the first not terrible offer they get.

I'm pissed about how much Poile gave up for him, but I'm fine with losing the player.

Jesus Christ. If the Flyers trade for Ekholm it has to include Ghost for cap and NSH says yes to a 1st and a guy like Ratcliffe. Ekholm probably isn’t worth protecting over Sanhiem or Myers so he’s just a rental. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Flyers capped the offer at a 1st.

Ghost hasn't been producing points great this season but its the best he looked in years on both sides of the puck but I understand not wanting to take him on going into a rebulid
