Description
*I sacrifice the future picks a little bit but i tired my best to keep the prospects. The picks is not that bad because if the team isn't performing, a lot of the guys have 1 year left so you can get picks back at the deadline.

*Could see EDM being interested in a guy like Dumoulin if Klefbom doesn't come back next year (don't know if it is 100% sure that he's coming back)

  1. Gaudreau, Johnny
Détails additionnels:
*If Calgary doesn't make the playoffs they might want to make a culture shift and trade their big guys. I could see Gaudreau waiving his NTC to go play closer to home in USA, but maybe not zucker but zucker has to be there for the salary to match.

Dumoulin is worth way more than just a 2nd rounder. That Barrie contract is a terrible use of cap space, rather just give that spot to Ruhwedel

Barrie was worse than Ceci last year, so I don't know why anyone would want to waste cap on him. Seems like a lot for Gaudreau. The Pens have been weak farm system and trading young players and picks seems to poor long term thinking.

Signing Barrie is a longshot i know. The only reason we would sign him is if Pittsburgh decide to send Matheson contract to Seatle ( which i am not sure they will do if matheson continue to play like that, still a expensive contract but a good player). The term is speculative i see your point tho 1 year deal would be better. He is a great guy in the locker room and brings massive help to the powerplay and can help develop a guy like marino to become a great powerplay specialist, same for POJ. He's been really good this year with edmonton and i would be surprised if he doesn't resign there anyway.

i agree last year was bad for him but this year is confidence is starting to come back and he's been a guy player in edmonton. Beast on the pp

It's the other 12 minutes a game when he isn't on the PP that turns me off Barrie. But if he can be competent at even strength it would be a good signing at that price.

Vegas isn’t touching that. Why do we want the Malkin that’s been on display this year? Stephenson has looked better, is faster and Fleury has been UNREAL this year.

i agree but malkin is starting to heat up right now and he's still one of the best centers in the league. If Lehner comes back and starts to play unreal also i think it would be an win-win trades on both sides. Its adressing problem for both teams.

Dumolin has too much term for Edmonton. They are doing just fine with the players they have lots of surprises on LD. They also have two more great defense to get in on the Left side in the next two years.

Center depth isn't resolved by getting an aging player. You get Statsny and Marleau doing that, still effective but quickly drop to bottom 6 play. Pens missed their window to effectively cash in on Gino.

Also Vegas isn't struggling this year so if they make moves it will be small depth moves to improve the existing roster. In the off season as long as Fleury doesn't fall off a cliff he can easily bring back more or just ride out the contract.

Vegas is one of the top teams in the west. Can not see them reading MAF and CS. Malkin is not getting younger. They have a good corp now and some promising kids coming up. Just makes zero sense to trade MAF or const controlled player for a aging veteran and an unproven goalie
