Donskoi is a 30+ pt machine, can slide up and down the line up, play special teams, fits the teams identity and fits in the locker room. Bennett wants out of CGY because he is a bottom 6 guy that wants to be a top 6 guy but only has 1 30pt season. I don’t get the fascination.

I get your point and it’s true, I still think that 3rd line needs a spark and if it’s not Donskoi leaving than it also could be compher.

Donskoi is a much better player than Compher. If not with the eye test then certainly with the advanced stats this season.

If this is a trade you'd do if you're GM then I'm glad you're not GM of the Avs lol (no offense).

Donskoi for Bennett straight up would be silly based on how Donskoi is playing this season. His only bad stretch with the Avs came after concussions. Otherwise he's been pretty decent.

Retaining $900k on a 3 year contract is awful. And to compound it by adding a 3rd ON TOP of that? Really bad value for Colorado.

Calgary would rip your arm off for this deal as it gives them a solid RHS RW who can play in the top 6, at just $3m x 3, along with a 3rd.

I would say the obsession is: a third line player who is good on the third line is on the trade block and for teams looking for depth scoring and other things tied with depth Bennett could definitely be a very good option for them

Fourth liner at best who doesn't add much to the fourth line and we're loaded with 4th liners.
